I was reading a magazine and stumbled across ads for cream cheese referencing www.spreadphilly.com. Next time I was online I visited the website and was pleasantly surprised at what Kraft had put together.
The website has your usual huge list of recipes plus an online community, but the section I found interesting was the “How to Cook with Philly” section showing tips and videos on cooking with cream cheese.
Did you know you can melt cream cheese? I didn’t. I knew it softened, but didn’t know it really melted. You can read all about that and other things here. You can also find the answer to the question about substituting cream cheese spread – it is not recommended for baked goods.
They also have videos to view that show you how to make cheesecake and many other goodies like a marble brownie using a boxed mix. Definitely a great reference. Check out the videos here.
