If you look at all the “things” a modern home contains, there is a lot of “stuff” in there that wouldn’t have been there twenty or thirty years ago. We lived quite well without it then, but we seem to “need” it now.
Why is that?
Because someone (read the advertisers of the world) told us we needed it. And we believed them. And we still believe them.
Since World War II our country has been driven by consumerism or “the quest for stuff.” My hubby found an interesting short movie on this topic and it reinforces my family’s desire to simplify, unplug and live a better life when hurting the planet less.
