I love wacky things… and it is amazing to me what advertisers will put on their websites to get you coming back and reading what they have to say. (And they hope buying their products.) Ham-TV has to be my favorite so far, but I kind of like this one from o-cello.
See these sponges?

I was over at the Kotex.com website looking for samples and coupons (yep, they are there) and stumbled across this really neat product for girls who are nearing the age to get their period. It is pricey but it is also well done and may make a nervous mom feel a little easier about this subject . . . → Read More: Have a pre-teen girl in your family, check out this neat “period” product

As a geographer, I spend a lot of time learning about places and people and my favorite place to study is my home state, Pennsylvania. Our state has such variety that it is hard for me to think about living any place else.
One of the reasons I love our state so much is because of the . . . → Read More: August 7, 2010: The Daily Frugal – Pennsylvania magazine review July/Aug edition, Double Cola and the Tannersville Cranberry Bog

Isn’t that amazing? I read through – carefully – the September 2010 issue of Family Circle and out of 236 numbered pages only 66 did not have advertising on them. Doesn’t leave much to read but ads, right? Right.
Family Circle is not one of my favorite magazines since it never seems to really have anything I . . . → Read More: Family Circle September 2010 Magazine Review – 72% of pages are advertising

Last night my husband was looking for a cold veggie or fruit soup to make for his permaculture class tomorrow and I pulled out Myra Goodman’s Food To Live By.
I put this book on my wish list at Paperbackswap some time ago and it showed up a couple weeks ago but I hadn’t had time to . . . → Read More: August 6, 2010: The Daily Frugal – Quick Book Review for Food to Live By – The Earthbound Farm Organic Cookbook

Here is a lesson I’ve learned but tend to forget – before you buy ANYTHING at Rite Aid (or another store that accepts internet coupons) check the product website for a coupon!
We’ve run out of ThermaCare heat pads and need to get a few more – we love how they work on back/shoulder strain – but . . . → Read More: August 2, 2010: The Daily Frugal – ThermaCare Online Coupons available

OK, it isn’t much but it is a nickel. My last Target receipt said “Get 5 cents off every time you use a resuable bag!” I’m not sure if that means you get 10 cents if you use 2 bags or not. I’ve always got one folded in my purse so this will be easy . . . → Read More: August 1, 2010: The Daily Frugal – Use a reusable bag at Target and save 5 cents on your order
